Purcell Funeral Home & Cremation Service LLC
Due to the recent mandate (Executive Order No. 155) by North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper on August 5, 2020, Purcell Funeral Home & Cremation Services requires that all individuals entering our facilities must wear a face mask or some form of facial covering that protects the nose and mouth.
We also promote that individuals practice the three W’s to limit the spread of COVID-19 which includes wearing a mask, washing your hands, and watching your distance.
Purcell Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC will continue to serve families as we have done regularly, we recognize our responsibility to protect the health of our families and the communities which we serve. Therefore federal, state, and local health ordinance may impact the number of people gathering for visitation or a reception under the current Executive Orders by Governor Cooper.
Section 4 of Executive Order 141 which relaxed prior restrictions as the state entered Phase 2 of its reopening:
Are weddings and funerals allowed to be held in Phase 2?
Yes. Even though there is no mass gathering cap on the people who may attend a wedding or funeral ceremony, receptions, or visitations before or after weddings and funerals are subject to the mass gathering limit.
Subsequent Executive Orders pertaining to the reopening of the state’s economy have continued to state that there is no cap on the number of people who may gather for a funeral service whether indoors or outdoors. There are limits, however, on receptions and visitations before or after a funeral service. No more than 25 people may gather indoors for a visitation or reception, and no more than 25 people may gather outdoors for such events.
