Naomi Morgan

Naomi Gwendolyn Cooley Morgan, was born to Naomi Bethea Rowell and Lawrence T. Cooley in Rowland, North Carolina on August 3, 1954.

She attended the public schools of Robeson County graduating in 1972, she later attended Pembroke State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and was certified to teach in North Carolina.

She began teaching as a substitute teacher while also working in a restaurant as a Culinary Service Specialist.

Naomi was a member of Amy’s Chapel Presbyterian Church. She later also obtained membership at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church holding dual membership in both churches. She was active in her church and community where she sang on the choir, set up programs, gave charitable donations to multiple agencies such as Breast Cancer, Humane Society, the Sierra Club and the Special Olympics.

Mrs. Morgan was preceded death by her parents and one brother, William Samuel Cooley.

Leaving to cherish her memory are three brothers: Lawrence T. Cooley (Loretta) of Charlotte, NC, Elon A. Kulii and Melvin Cooley both of Greensboro, NC; three sons: Darreth D. Cooley (Irma) of Hope Mills, NC, Dion D. Cooley of Shawnee, OK, and James A. Robinson II of Rowland, NC; two grandchildren: Aryanna Cooley and Anthony Cooley along with other relatives, church family and friends.
