“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. “  Revelation 21:4 KJV

Lacy Solomon Smith, son of the late Archie Harrison and Flossie Smith, was born May 17, 1931 in Eagle Springs, North Carolina.  God called him to rest on Saturday, July 3, 2016 at his home in Southern Pines, North Carolina.

Lacy graduated from Pinckney High School in Carthage, North Carolina in 1950.  He was united in marriage to Rev. Helen Ross Smith.  To this union, three children were born, of which one preceded him in death (Mary Alice Baker).

Lacy was employed at Stanley Furniture in West End, North Carolina for 40 plus years until retirement.  Lacy enjoyed doing yard work and going to gospel singing programs.  He was a very dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.

Lacy leaves to cherish his loving memory:  two sons, Cedric Solomon (Linda) Smith of Carthage, North Carolina, and W. Aris (Rhonda) Smith of the home in Southern Pines, North Carolina; one sister, Mazie Smith of Greensboro, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Pearl Smith; and two brothers-in-law, Frank and Charles Ross; sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
