“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And HE that sat upon The Throne said, Behold, I make ALL things New.” Revelation 21:4-5
Teresa Loretta Matthews was born at Scotland Memorial Hospital on September 20, 1958 to the late Walter Lawrence Matthews, Sr. and to Catherine Monroe Matthews. Teresa transitioned to her Heavenly Home on April 3, 2018.
Teresa graduated from Scotland High School in 1976. She was a very bright and active scholar while at SHS. She participated in sports such as golf, earned leading and co-leading roles in theater productions, joined different clubs, and was a member of the Homecoming Court. After graduation, she attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
Teresa gave her life to Christ at an early age and became a member of Spring Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Though she loved to smile, laugh, and reminisce about “old times”, Teresa would become serious and reflective when talking about God.
