Ms. Mattie Mae Rogers was born to the late Willie Odell Rogers and Mrs. Bonnie J. Rogers-McQueen on August 29, 1952 in Scotland County, North Carolina. She was called to her heavenly home on March 24, 2018.
Mattie attended Shaw School. She was a member of Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church. Even though there were times that she didn’t feel her best, she was still faithful and continue to give God the praise. Not only was she a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, but she was also a TRUE child of God.
Mattie was preceded in death by her father; three sisters, Sandra, Theresa, and Vanessa Rogers; four brothers, William Poe, Donald Rogers, Ronald Rogers, and James L. Rogers; her grandmother, Mary E. Page; and a special friend for over 40 years, Johnell Morrison.
Mattie leaves to cherish her loving memory: her sons, Robert Lee (Denise) Rogers of Indian Trail, NC and Michael (Angela) Rogers of Virginia; her mother, Bonnie Rogers-McQueen; one sister, Bertha Javis of Wagram, NC; one brother; Harris (Trisha) Rogers of Raeford, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
