Funeral Service for Lugretta Harrison, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 at Greater Piney Grove United Methodist Church, Maxton. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 pm at Purcell Funeral Home. Services are entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home, Laurinburg.
Lugretta Mae Harrison was born on March 12, 1952 to Mable Marshall and the late Freddie Kemp in Bladen County, NC. She entered into eternal rest on January 16, 2019 at Scotland Memorial Hospital, Laurinburg, NC.
Lugretta joined Jones Chapel Church at an early age and served as an usher. Later she joined her husband at Jerusalem UMC.
Lugretta graduated from Scotland High (1971) and worked at Abbott Laboratory (Laurinburg, NC).
Lugretta was married to Willie Lee Harrison and was the mother of two daughters, Vonda Rogers and Tiffany Harrison both of Laurinburg, and one son, William Harrison (Dionne) of Riner VA. Lugretta leaves many family members and friends to celebrate and cherish her life, including: mother, Mable Rogers Marshall; five grandchildren: Parysia Rogers, Tati’Ana Rogers, Lamonte’ Harrison, Na’Tazia Adams, Leah Harrison; four great grandchildren: Derryanna, Aliyanna, Ja’Kira, Jy’Rek; special niece Crystal Jackson (Atlanta GA); four uncles: Sylvester, Walter (Anne), Eddie (Marjorie), Charles (Brenda) Rogers; one aunt: Helen Campbell; three brothers: Kenny Kemp (Fayetteville NC), Curtis Fuller (Beth, Dallas, GA), Stanley Terry (New York City); two sisters: Vanessa Baker (Robert, Fayetteville NC), Glenda McGill (Dunn, NC); Mother-in-law: Eva Mae Harrison; Brothers-in-law: Authur Harrison (Bertha), James Harrison (Elaine), James McQueen, Robert Troy (Betty); Sister-in-law: Petheria Johnson, Louise Malloy (Fredrick), Blondell Lane (Larry), Elizabeth (Bobby) Leach. Lugretta was preceded in death by her father, Freddie Kemp, sister, Deborah Jackson, grandson, Amming Ty’Rek Harrison, brothers: Ronnie Kemp and Varen Kemp.
