Mrs. Darnella Bullard Terry was born to the late Wesley and Darnella Bullard of Robeson County, NC on July 24, 1921.
She was a faithful member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church until her health began to fail.
She was a dedicated member of Sunday School, served as a Deaconess, Senior Choir member, Faithful Usher for over 80-years, Pastor’s Aide, and Hospitality Committee. Mrs. Terry was known as one of the Platinum Queens of Bethlehem. Mother Terry was a member of the Court of Calanthe Morning Star #401, Garden Club, past President and Treasurer of the Community Savings Club.
She retired from Presbyterian Daycare where she was known for her homemade biscuits. “Yes those biscuits melt in your mouth and not in your hands”. She will be remembered for selling ice cream on Creedle Street, and taking soup to the sick and shut-in. Mother enjoyed reciting poems. One of her favorite poems was, “My Get Up and Go Has Got Up and Went”.
