Willie Barton

Willie Barton was born on August 12, 1957, to the late Mary Frances Barton in Scotland County, North Carolina. He departed this life on August 20, 2025, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

Willie received his education in the Public Schools of Scotland County. He worked as an auto mechanic for BJ’s Auto Shop.

In addition to his mother, Willie was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry.

He is survived by: his children, Christina Barton, Lee Barton, and Brandon Barton; seven grandchildren, Shae’, Chris, Jo-Jo, Chantella, Cameron, Jaylynn, and Caleb; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Rose; brother, Tim; nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2025, at The Kenneth M. Purcell Memorial Chapel. 

Services are entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
