On April 24, 2020, our Lord and savior suddenly called his daughter Onettia home. Mrs. Onettia Leach-McNeill was born on September 20, 1936. She was born and raised in Scotland County, North Carolina. She was the eighth child of eleven children of the late Willie and Elvena Leach. She was baptized as a member of the Nashville Baptist Church. Onettia was called Aunt Neat or Neata by many of her friends. Onettia was a graduate of Laurinburg Institute High School.
She was married to the late Fred McNeill. They relocated to New York where Onettia worked several jobs until she started working for Rose Ann Optical Eyeglass Case Co. She was a caretaker to three of her siblings and son throughout their illness until the Lord took them home.
