Lavena Bragg

Lavena Bragg, 86, of Laurinburg, departed this life on January 30, 2022, surrounded by her family. Services are entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home & Cremation Services. 

She was born August 11, 1935, to the late Charlie Glendale Jumpper and Ostalena May Jumpper.  Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Monroe Turnage Bragg, and one son, Johnny Wayne Hall. 

She was known as Mama Vena and was loved by many.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was a hard-working lady that enjoyed cooking and gardening.  She was a loving wife, mother and friend who will be truly missed.  

Lavena is survived by three children, Monroe Travis Bragg (Tracy), Fredrick Allen Bragg (Elvia), and Lethia Francine Jordan, 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.  

Visitation for the family will be on Thursday, February 10th at 1:00 pm.  Public viewing will be from 2:00 until 5:oo p.m at Johnson Coleman Funeral Home, 723 Anthony Street, Gallatin, Tennessee 37066. 

A life celebration will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 11th at the Zion Upper Room Apostolic Faith Church, located at 365 North Blakemore Avenue, Gallatin, Tennessee. The family will receive friends again on Friday from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the start of service. 

Burial will take place at Crestview Memory Gardens on Friday, February 11th at 1:00 pm.
