It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Alexander “Tootie Fruity” Johnson, 84, of Laurinburg who departed this life on Thursday, July 13, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, at The Kenneth M. Purcell Memorial Chapel, Laurinburg. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 12:00 until 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at Purcell Funeral Home. Services are entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
