Funeral service for Willie McInnis will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Purcell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hillside Memorial Park. Pastor Nathaniel Morrison Eulogist, and Rev. James Clark Officiating. Viewing and visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Services are entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home of Laurinburg.
Willie Edward McInnis, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sr. (Deceased) and Rosa Lee McInnis was born on June 1, 1963, in Scotland County, North Carolina. He departed this life on Friday, February 15, 2019, at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Willie was a graduate of Scotland High School class of 1983 which he enjoyed the sports; basketball, and football along with attending the Scotland County Memorial Library. He was a very big fan of Scotland High School football team and Kobe Bryant of the Lakers. Willie faithfully attended Progressive Missionary Baptist Church and confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Rosa Lee McInnis of Laurinburg, NC; five brothers, Leonard McInnis Jr., Joseph (Arletha) McInnis both of Laurinburg, NC, Leo (Liska) McInnis of Weeki Wachee, FL, Leroy McInnis Sr. and Tony McInnis both of Laurinburg, NC; three sisters, Rosa (Walter) Collier of Suitland, MD, Linda (Larry) Bears of Hamlet, NC, and Joyce Davidson of Orlando, FL; sister-in-law, Darleen McInnis of Laurinburg, NC; four uncles, Dan Floyd (Cally) McInnis of Greensboro, NC, Welton McInnis, Johnnie (Cynthia) McInnis, and Thermon McInnis all of Laurinburg, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
