Wayne Gerald Pankey

Mr. Wayne Gerald Pankey, son of the late John T. Pankey and Patricia Rossianno, was born on August 4, 1956 in Scotland County.  On May 1, 2017, he prepared himself to answer his call and go be with the Lord.

Wayne, known by Spankey by many of his friends, worked at Laurinburg and Southern for many years until his health took over, where he later retired.  But he didn’t give up.  He traveled back and forth to St. Albans Queens, New York where he enjoyed spending lots of time.  He also loved spending time with his kids and grandkids no matter the circumstances. 

Wayne loved to go out and make sure the yard was well maintained.  He enjoyed fishing and watching tv.  Anybody who knew Wayne know that he loved his tv shows.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents as well as two brothers, Emery Rossianno and Mark Rossiano of New York, and one sister, Rita Rossi of Laurinburg, NC.

Wayne leaves to cherish his memory:  his best friend, Sharon Pankey of Laurinburg, NC; two sons, Michael Ocean of Camden, SC and Jamaal Pankey (Darnella) of Laurinburg, NC; two daughters, Cherise Pankey (JB) of Fayetteville, NC and Rita Pankey (Jerome) of Hamlet, NC; grandchildren, Bug Doodle, Tate Jounery, Papa Montre, Shiya Trina and Grandpa Girl, Mossa.

Wayne will be missed by his sisters, Lori Lewis (Anthony) of Raleigh, NC and Leslie Ogletree (Lilly) of Queens, New York; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
