Elder Jimmy Armstrong was born July 30. 1955 in Raeford, North Carolina, to the late Dan Armstrong and the late Stella Gillis Armstrong. He departed this life to enter eternal rest on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Pinehurst Hospice Care.
Jimmy graduated from Hoke County High School in 1975. During his free time, Jimmy enjoyed working on small engines and planting vegetables in his garden. He attended Solid Rock Holiness Church where later he was called into the ministry. He loved God and His Holy Word. He served God from a pure heart. He worked at Gulistan Carpet for many years and at the Town of Aberdeen.
Jimmy was married to Linda McLaughlin on November 10, 1982. They were married for 35 years. One son was born, Jimmy Linsdell Armstrong. Jimmy was a great and faithful husband and a dedicated father. He also was a good brother, uncle, nephew, grandfather, and friend.
Jimmy was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Frances Skinner and five brothers, Damon, Donny Van, Danny Jr., Albert, and Lewis Armstrong.
Jimmy is survived by: his devoted wife, Linda McLaughlin Armstrong; one son, Jimmy Linsdell Armstrong; and one grandson, Rilee Jordon Armstrong; four brothers, Otis (Deborah) Armstrong, Minister Steve (Evangelist Jacquelyn) Armstrong, King David (Frances) Leslie, and Robert (Sharon) Armstrong; two sisters, Flora Agnes Bullock and Eldress Roberta (Roy) McNeill; a mother-in-law, Mable Hasty McLaughlin and three sisters-in-law, Lucille Handon, Maeola McLaughlin, and Mattie Jones; an aunt, Janice Byrd; a “special” sister-in-law, Mary Ola Richardson Armstrong; a “special” niece who was dear to him, Christina L. Armstrong; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
