Jeanet (Lockley) Taylor

Jeanet Lockley Taylor, of Washington, DC, formerly of Southern Pines, was called from labor to rest on June 22, 2017.  She was born on January 8, 1943 to Eula Mae Lockley McMillan and the late Iverson Lockley.

Jeanet attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic School in West Southern Pines.  She went on to graduate from high school in Kinston, NC.

Jeanet moved to the Washington, DC area as a young adult.  She was employed for many years in care giving capacities as a housekeeper, professional nanny, and health caregiver.  Jeanet was a dedicated and giving person who was always willing to share.  Genuinely concerned about the needs of others, she showed love and compassion to family and friends alike.

Jeanet was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Taylor; her father, Iverson Lockley; two sisters, Edna Gibson and Delores Brunson; and a brother, Robert Lockley.

Jeanet leaves to cherish her memory:  a son, Travis Taylor (Elaine); one grandson, Brandon; two granddaughters, Ebony Artu (Joy) and Braya Taylor, all of Jackson Springs; daughters, Maria Thompkins-Veney and Tracy Coleman; her mother, Eula McMillan, of Southern Pines; sisters, Mildred McMillan (Moses), Bobbie Oglesby (David), and Mary Baldwin (William Thomas), all of Southern Pines, and Ann McMillan of Raleigh; two brothers, William McMillan (Linda) and Joseph McMillan, both of Southern Pines; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
