Mr. James Willie Brown son of the late Mr. Curtis Brown and Mrs. Laura Bell McIntyre was born September 1, 1955 in Marlboro County, South Carolina.
James graduated high school in Marlboro County and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1974. He was assigned as an Aerospace control operator and honorably discharge in 1976. James continued his education and worked 9 years as a security guard at the LOF Glass Plant in Laurinburg, NC. Thereafter, James pursued a career as a machine operator and attended RCC in Hamlet, NC. James honed his trade as a machine operator at Rockwell, FCC, and Ina Bearing.
James enjoyed fixing things, fishing, caring for the family pets, and talking to his family and friends on the phone. James had a regular daily routine of waking up early and getting his family off to school and to work as well calling his sister Lois in the morning.
Mr. James Willie Brown is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mrs. Elizabeth Steele Brown and his children Marcus Brown (Yolanda) of Columbia, SC, Justin Brown (Sheila) of Bennettsville, SC, Amelia Brown, James E. Brown, Sara Brown, Candace Brown, Katrina Brown, Christopher Brown, all of Laurinburg, NC, and Phillip, of Charlotte, NC; eleven grandchildren; one niece he reared as his own daughter Allison Dupree; two dear sisters Mrs. Eva McLaurin of Patterson, NJ, Mrs. Mary Lois McCoy of Laurinburg, NC; special friend and relative, Mr. Greg Terry; special nephews, Chris and Mickey DeVaughn; special neighbors, Dan Shoemaker, Stan McMillan, and a host of other family members and friends.
