James Walter McCall

James Walter McCall, 72, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at his home in Laurinburg, NC.

James was born on August 18, 1944, son of the late Laura McCall & Woodrow McCall.  He attended Marlboro County public schools and was a dedicated employee of Powell Manufacturing Company in Bennettsville, SC for twenty eight years and worked at Abbott Labs in Laurinburg until he retired.

Today we celebrate the life of James Walter McCall, never a man to complain, James always kept a humble smile.  He never met a stranger and never drank a Coca Cola he did not love.  He always greeted people with love and welcomed kids with laughter.  If you asked him where he wanted to go he would tell you “the beach”.  Sand, sunshine and the sound of kids playing filled his heart with joy.

Preceding him in death is his son James McCall Jr., his sister Laurastine Williams & his grandson Rush Anderson Farr.

He is survived by his loving spouse of twenty two years, Judy Farr and his children, Day McCall, Chad McCall, Felicisa Jones, and Erin Farr of Laurinburg, NC, Alton Farr of Fort Bragg, NC, Moniquie Farr of Greensboro NC and Wendy Everett of Atlanta, GA; fifteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren & a very special grandchild, McKenzie Farr.

He is also survived by his sister, Mary L. Bethea of Bennettsville, SC; nephew, Pastor Shawn Williams of Fayetteville, NC; niece, Tawanda Williams of Bennettsville, SC; great aunts, Elizabeth McCall and Margaret McCall of Brooklyn, NY and Dorletha Lee of Bennettsville, SC; and a host of nieces and nephews.

James Walter McCall will be greatly missed and will forever be in the hearts of all those who knew him.
