Eva Mae Easterling, born July 2, 1922 in Scotland County, to Hannah and Les Easterling, the oldest of two. Her sister, Rose Lee, as well as her parents, preceded her in death.
Eva attended Matthew Chapel School in the 1930. She moved to Maryland in her early adult years. Eva was employed by Providence Hospital in Washington, DC as a housekeeper for 30 years. She joined Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Washington, DC for many years.
Eva was joined in holy matrimony to Luther Wingard. They adopted a son, Tyrand Wallace. Both preceded her in death. She moved back to Laurinburg in 2002 where she joined Matthew Chapel Church. Eva was the second mother to all her nephews and nieces.
Eva leaves to cherish her memories: three nephews, Charles (Elizabeth) Wade of Fort Washington, James (Mable) Wade, and Alonza (Joanna) Wade both of Laurinburg; two nieces, Betty (Dennis) Cassidy of Asheboro, and Audrey (Eddie) Mason of Laurinburg; one adopted grandson, Terrell Douglas of Maryland; and a host of great nephews, great nieces, and other relatives and friends.
