On Wednesday, July 26, 2017, the death angel came and bore the bright spirit of Elijah Hines away to a land that is free from sickness, sorrow, pain and death.  Elijah Hines was born January 11, 1951 to the late Betty Mae McKoy (deceased) and the late Eli Hines (deceased).

Elijah a.k.a. “Sweet Daddy”, was educated at Scotland County School District in which he later worked as a faithful employee at Scotland County School System.  He then went to work for Railroad Friction in Laurinburg, NC and The Grooms Brothers in McColl, SC.  Elijah was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church in Hasty, NC.

Elijah Hines was a respectful person and very understanding and a great inspirational person who was loving and caring and most of all a people person.  He was a great father, granddaddy, uncle, brother to his kids family and friends.  When you met Elijah Hines you couldn’t dislike him.  You had to love Sweet Daddy.

Elijah is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Mae McKoy; his father, Eli Hines; one brother, Sam McKoy; one sister, Kathy McKoy; and one child, Jeffery McLean.
