Anita McRae

Anita McRae 61, of Raeford, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019.  Funeral services will be 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Purcell Funeral Home, Laurinburg.  Services are entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home of Laurinburg.

Anita McRae was born May 16, 1958, in Brooklyn, New York to Sarah Haltiwanger and the late Samuel McRae. On Tuesday, June 11, 2019, she completed her earthly journey.

Anita received her education in the Public-School System of New York and graduate from the Prospect Heights High School. She further her education at St. John’s University. Anita was a journalist and enjoyed writing music and poems.

She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel McRae; and brother, Kent McRae.

Anita leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Sarah Haltiwanger; siblings, Gregory McRae, Raymond McRae, Lewis McRae, Samantha McRae, Patrick Mithcell, Fredrick Mitchell, and Patricia Mitchell; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
