Mr. Albert McLaurin, 73, of Laurinburg, died Friday, November 16, 2018. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, November 23, 2018, at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Laurinburg, North Carolina. Viewing and Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2018, from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Purcell Funeral Home. Services are entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home, Laurinburg.

Mr. Albert McLaurin was born to the late Mr. Johnnie and Mrs. Theresa McLaurin on June 23, 1945, in Scotland County, North Carolina. On Friday, November 16, 2018, Albert passed away at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Albert was educated in the Scotland County Public School System. At an early age, he confessed Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Laurinburg, North Carolina.
Albert was a well-known farmer and loyal to his family, friends, and members of the community. He was loved by everyone path he crossed. Always full of smiles and laughter. He was known by many as “Big A”. Albert had a love of music and was skilled in playing instruments. He favored the bass guitar and the organ.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, nine children, Johnnie (Donna) Douglas of Durham, NC, Jimmy (Eva ) Douglas of Fayetteville, NC, Annie (Rodney) Roper of Laurel Hill, NC, Wanda (Arthur) Williams of New Jersey, Angela Douglas, Terry (April) Douglas, and Albert Douglas all of Laurinburg, NC, Gregory Douglas and Sarah Douglas both of Maxton, NC; five siblings Leroy McLaurin, Pearlene McLaurin, and Dorothy McLaurin all of Maxton, NC, Charles McLaurin of Bennettsville, SC, and Caletha McLaurin, of Red Springs, NC; a special friend of the home Kim Smith; eighteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
