Maxine Mae (Alford) McLeod

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why.

Mrs. Maxine Patterson McLeod was born November 19, 1952, the eldest out of eight children, to Anna C. Patterson and the late David L. Patterson.  Maxine departed this life on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Dwight David Eisenhower Medical Center in Fort Gordon, GA.  One sister, Deborah Ann, one brother, George Lorenzo, and one nephew, Dudzinski A. Patterson, preceded her in death.

At an early age, she attended New Hope FWB Church which was later renamed Avery Chapel FWB Church, Raeford, NC.  Maxine and her family resided in Augusta, GA for twenty-five years.  She attended Birth Moriah Baptist Church in Appling, GA.

Maxine graduated from the Hoke County School System (Hoke High) with the Class of 1971, Raeford, NC and attended Sandhills Community College for three years in Pinehurst, NC.  Maxine was supervisor at Stinson Guest House, Fort Gordon, GA for twenty years.

Maxine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister.  She leaves to cherish her memories:  her husband of forty-two years, Charles McLeod; one son, Davette Patterson; three daughters, Raquel McLeod, Johanna McLeod, and Tasheena McLeod all of Augusta, GA; five grandchildren, Jahamari Glenn, Raquez McLeod, Rahsaan McLeod, Rayan Anderson, and Takira Patterson all of Augusta, GA; mother, Anna Patterson; three brothers, David Patterson of Greensboro, NC, Garry Patterson (Brenda) of Southern Pines, NC, and Lindsey Patterson (Jackie) of Raeford, NC; two sisters, Carrie Patterson and Antoinette Patterson of Southern Pines, NC; one aunt, Linda Miller of Raeford, NC; two brothers-in-law, Clarence McLeod of Yonkers, NY, and Troy McLeod of Pinehurst, NC; one sister-in-law, Margaret Pell (Raul) of Hoffman, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.  Also a special god-daughter, Tori Green and a best friend, Vivian Green of Augusta, GA.
