Felicia Purdie was born on June 2, 1971 to Laverne Purdie and William McClain Chase (Mack) in Newark, New Jersey.
Felicia was educated in the Newark and East Orange School Systems in New Jersey. Felicia attended Essex County Technical College where she was certified as a secretary.
Felicia relocated to Dayton, Ohio in 2008 where she worked as a Party Planner part-time before she became ill. She moved to Laurinburg in 2013.
Felicia was full of life and humor before her illness. She was a great dancer and loved to sing. She had a beautiful smile (all of her baby teeth).
Felicia was predeceased by her mother, Laverne Purdie.
Felicia leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Michael Mebane; her children, Hassan Purdie, Khalil Purdie, Jasmin Best, and Michael Jr.; two grandchildren, Jordan and Jamaya Purdie; her father, William McClain Chase; her mother-in-law, Delores Chancellor (Terry) of Dayton, Ohio; three sisters, Dajuana Purdie Anderson (Melvin) of Brownstown, Michigan, Nadirah Purdie of Newark, New Jersey, and Yarniqua Purdie of Newark, New Jersey; one brother, William Devon Purdie of East Orange, New Jersey; her aunts, Gwendolyn Purdie Bonds and Bridgette Purdie Bey, both of Maxton, North Carolina, Mable Chase Lallo of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Delores Chase Shomo; and a host of other relatives and friends.
